Who they are:
KREFELD BUSINESS is the umbrella brand of the Economic Development Agency (WFG), the Real Estate Company (GGK) and the Economic Department of the City of Krefeld (WDI). It is our common goal to promote Krefeld as a business location.
As WFG, we advise and coach companies, investors and founders in a competent, committed and personalised manner on business ideas, concepts and funding matters. We initiate and coordinate networks and projects that make Krefeld more attractive for companies and skilled labour. We present the location, co-operate regionally, across industries and sectors, support foreign trade approaches, cross-border networks and sustainable business fields.
GGK develops and markets business parks and projects, revitalises, helps in the search for commercial premises and offers co-working and market launch offices.
The economic department deals with economic and project issues in cooperation with the city administration’s business areas, promotes networking and digital urban development, explores funding, especially for regional and European cooperation and structural projects, and utilizes Krefeld’s international contacts for economic exchange.
Their motivation:
As a European city with a long tradition of cross-border co-operation, we have long appreciated the opportunities and positive dynamics of European networks. The awareness of living in a common border region with constant cross-border exchange – be it cultural or economic – is clearly noticeable in our city.
By expanding our networks geographically beyond our existing intensive co-operation especially with neighbouring cities in the border region, we are opening up further perspectives for Krefeld in the macro-region. Together with the cities and regions in the network, we would like to play an active role in shaping future spatial development and are happy to share our cross-border perspective with the network.
What they expect to achieve with this partnership:
As part of the network, Krefeld hopes for a fruitful exchange on strategic issues of spatial development and insights into practical approaches for future-oriented urban and regional development. The city would like to learn from best-practice approaches and is also happy to make its own practical experience available here.
