SURE network is welcoming the City Region (Stadsregio) of Parkstad Limburg as their newest member since January 2023. Parkstad Limburg is a regional cooperation of seven municipalities in the former mining region in the Southeast of the Netherlands, amongst which the cities of Heerlen and Kerkrade, with approximately 250,000 inhabitants.
Parkstad Limburg offers inspiring examples in a variety of areas of cross border cooperation in the Eurodelta regio, due to its geographic location, near the German and Belgian borders. The city region is currently exploring potential future roles in SURE projects. On the short term, Parkstad Limburg will be co-hosting one of the Open Office days for the Next Generation Podium on 20 March 2023.
